New Super Cub and Altimeter Fun...

Finally snow has melted and the winds have ceased and I got to fly my new Parkzone Super Cub. I put one of these X-Port Powered Altimeter in the fuselage and poked a small hole for the LED to show through and headed out to the field.

It still was a bit windy but sunny and the SC was getting some nice updrafts so I flew it as high as I could manage without my distance glasses. A hawk appeared out of nowhere below it and I cut the motor and descended to visit my new flying friend. I had to give the plane a little gas to fly laterally to where the hawk was circling but the motor scared it off before I even got close.

I brought it down and was pleased that I had reached 1,543 ft. Not too shabby for a maiden outing. I'd estimate the hawk was at about 1,000 ft then. Ran through four more packs with several more 4 digit climbs but 1,543 ft became the record of the day.

Great fun and am looking forward to spring and summer and flying these and more X-Port gadgets. ~ Scott
